About Oman

Oman is located at the mouth of the Persian Gulf and shares land borders with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The coastline is by the Arabian Sea in the south and the Gulf of Oman in the north.

A vast desert plain covers most of central Oman with mountain ranges in the north and southeast coast. Muscat, the capital city is in the north while Salalah is in the south. The peninsula of Musandam is separated from the rest of the country by the UAE.

Oman has a rich cultural heritage including unique archaeological sites of world significance. Its extensive coastline, spectacular sandy beaches and hot sunny climate also make it ideal for outdoor recreational activities and water sports
